Community

West Seneca, New York, is a community of over 45,000 people lying about eight miles southeast of Buffalo.  Our region has an abundance of shopping plazas and malls.  It is composed of a cross section of managerial, professional, industrial, and service occupations.  Cultural opportunities abound with museums, music halls, public libraries, and many institutions of higher learning within a half hour’s drive.

Located a few miles from Lake Erie, it is near many recreational areas.  Niagara Falls, parks, marinas, and ski areas provide places of relaxation for residents and public places for Christians to share the Gospel of Christ.

School Background

WSCS opened in the fall of 1974 as a School of the First Baptist Church of West Seneca with 44 students in grades K through 6.  It presently serves students in grades pre-K through 12.  As the school is a School of the church, the senior pastor is its superintendent with the details of administration carried out by the school administrator.  A six-member school committee works with the administration to formulate the policies of the school with the cooperation of the administrative staff.  Teachers, secretaries, and other staff members complete a team that works together in this aspect of the church school.

School Facilities

The school has a large educational wing of 14 classrooms, a library, and school offices as well as the use of several rooms in the adjoining church building.  A full-size gymnasium provides for physical education and indoor sports.  Our large recess playground and back field provide a safe outdoor space for the warmer months.  The traditional classroom setting helps provide security and control for top educational achievement.
